Selling your truck

I've sen alot of trucks/cars/wagons for sell lately and in my opinion all the prices are out of whack. Heres my suggestion when selling a custom vehicle.Take the blue book value and cut it in half,might as well you already did it to your ride.2nd any work done to it rims,bags,4 link, stereo,interior etc. now take the price you paid for it and take away 3/4 of the price you paid. Here's an example a truck blue books at 10k and you got 6k worth of work so you should sell it for about 7k. This is just my opinion and had to get it off my chest.

That doesn't make sense. If the blue book shows 10,000 and you improve the truck with 6,000 worth, how does that drop the blue book below what it is stock?? I'm sorry but if my truck is worth 10,000 and I put a brand new engine ($6,000) in it, I'm going to sell it for more than $10,000.

that means most older mini trucks would sell right at around 1k.. ha ha

if you have a truck worth ten, and add 6k to it, you might get 14k. but you never know...

Look on mautofied.com.. everyone wants their book, plus all the $$ invested, plus their gas cost, insurance costs since they have owned it.. people try to sell garbage on there all day long for very high prices.. I think that's what he was getting at.

I was just thinking that. My tuck blue books at $1100 in near perfect condition.

I'm not saying every vehicle loses its value but if you take a normal vehicle and cut it up to lay you essentially totaled the vehicle(by cutting the frame). if you take an uncut vehicle and up grade then yes you should get more out of it. my first post was geared towards trucks layed out.As for classics my theory does not work there.there were not millions of the older vehicles produced like todays vehicles, so their values are priced differently. As time goes on the trucks should appreciate in value as they become more obscure in the future.
Like i said in the first post just my opinion so try not to analyze it out of proportion (like every thing else here at ssm).

yep, thats pretty much the idea. people need to realize their poop is not worth its weight in gold.
