definatly fish plates inside outside top and bottom wouldnt hurt. i would prob drill some 1/2 in holes nad plug weld on the sides for a lil more weld. if your sliding the clip inside the rails a lil, that would help more.

ya i plan on sliding the clip inside the other frame about 4"

The factory frame on a mini isn't any thicker than 1/8" so you wouldn't need to use material any thicker than that to join everything together.

I personally don't like slipping the frames inside one another. What I prefer is to align the frames up so that the bracing will flow as nice as possible.

could you explain a lil better max? from what im understand is you butt them up and brace accordingly so it can be ground down and look almost factory?

Actually the front clip and the back half of the frame will be say 6" apart, then I will make a filler section that blends everything together nicely.

Make sense now?

Me and a bud were discussing this very thing at work today, that makes perfect sense.

I'm in the middle of doing this now. Doing it the same way Max just described. I will try to take some decent pictures.
