I was just thinking it would be hard to pull a heavy load at such low rpm's. It's true about the price of gas but diesel engines are far more efficient. I haven't done the math, but it seems like if you took 2 identical trucks 1 diesel and the other gas it would cost roughly the same to cover the same distance.

idk about several trucks but i know people that are towing their race car trailers with them and they say it pulls really good, but also im in FL where everything is flat so on mountains it may not works as good.
