Well, today, I welded in some well needed bear claw latch's so I the poppers won't have any problem opening these 53year old doors What I started with.....
First I cut and trimed everything so the new latch's would fit flush where I wanted em'.....
And after I got the new latch postitioned where I wanted it I tacked in in place.......
Before I welded it in solid I had to insatll the striker to make sure everything was going to fit and work right......
Heres what I started with (prehistoric door latch's ).....
After positioning the striker where it needed to be, I tack it in, And made sure everything opened, closed, and lined up perfectly....
Then I began "sculpting" the new body lines inside the door jamb,........
Then I cut out a peice of 16gauge sheetmetal To plate everything and tacked it in before I welded it in solid........
After testiong everything a milion times I fanaly got to weld that shit up!
The latch's finaly got welded up solid also......
And there you have it,....after all the welds were smoothed out, now I'm ready for mud! ......not that it needs much
Now it opens and closes BETTER that a new car or truck
And Thanks for the steak & beer last night sucka fish....it was the shit!

You're REALLY starting to piss me off Brian!!
Everytime you post an update, I think of all the money I WASTED with the two fucktard paint shops here that left my truck worse off after each attempt!!
Listen, pack your shit up, and come spray my truck in my 1300sq ft detached home garage!

What happend with the work you had done before anyways.....was it just shit work?
Well thanks for all the post's guy's!!!! This is one hell of a project (5 years in the making for fish!) And I'm definetly proud to now be a part of it (but DAMN, I can't wait till i'm done with this one )
