I have a couple aftermarket pans at the house too...As far as the intake goes, I hear that weinand does have the shortest intake....You should just make it really tall!

Here is my engine..

have fun getting the steering to go through those headers.. it took forever to get my steering to work with my BD s10 and 355.. its bd 4 inches though..

but hood clearance you may squeeze by with a 3inch cowl hood if they make one..

how much you selling the pans for? the one i got dips down a lot in the back. i'm sure a different one would help a lot.

damn thats a big engine. lol

ya i heard it's gonna be a bitch with the steering.

87-95 350 block, bored 0.030 (355), comp cams thumper cam, vortech heads, flat-top pistons, electric water pump (will go stock water pump if clearance is an issue), high-torque starter, edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock thunder 650 carb, edelbrock air cleaner (bout to be the dual side b&m/holley), hedman headers, stealth motor mounts (jagsthatrun.com), chrome center bolt valve covers, COMPUSHIFT controller for 4L60E tranny, flex-a-lite fan, more to come...might have to get the vette radiator.

so should i not use the stock oil pan? i was about to put it on last night, but i couldn't find enough info if it for sure will not work. i see above where a couple people talk about modified oil pans, but i'm wondering if this is a must on a bodydropped truck. and i assume i'd have to have a shorter oil pickup.

the stealth motor mounts (http://jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_S10-V8ConvsnMnts.html) say they sit the motor lower than other motor mounts, plus i'm traditional bodydropped. my plan was to keep a stock hood (i might get a different air cleaner if needed), so the motor will need to sit pretty low i assume.

only got 5 post left this month, so hope someone can be real descriptive and helpful. hahah

you will have to get an aftermarket oil pan, i too am facing the same problem like you, i want to run my 350 with a stock hood. the oil pans are racing pans, what they use for circle track, it is a good investment, because if your enigine is as low as it is, i guarantee you wont be able to lay out your truck and to find that you are crushing your oil pan, but also, if you are as low as you say, becareful about using that oil pan, you might be so low that even with a racing oil pan, it still hangs lower then your frame, then your screwed. because i havent heard of a lower pan. you can try summitracing.com, or jegs.com and look up racing oil pans. a note, if you just out and out bought your engine, you will run into a problem if you dont know what your motor came out of, because the bolt pattern is different. good luck with the motor issue, post some pics of the completion.

i've talked to a couple guys with bodydropped dimes with 350 motors and they got the stock pan and one has a stock hood. seems like it can be done. and i can't really find online any info about a smaller oil pan to buy.

what about the fuel pump? in my truck now i got the 4.3l vortec v6 and the pump is in the tank since it's fuel injected. but i'm going with a carb now. should i get the external fuel pump and mount it on the side of the block or just leave the one in the tank?
