im thinking of replacing my i beams with a s-10 front clip, then baggin it, but iv never seen it done. so if anyones done it then give me some input on what to look out for,and pics of it. thanks

I think most people use yotas to keep the same lug pattern

yea ive seen it done. just cause its a good idea dont make it right hahaha. use a yota clip or mustang 2 clip. ide say a 98+ ranger clip but there not much better than ibeams

what model of yota should i get the front clips from? i was thinking of getting the suicide doors upper and lower control arms, and making them fit. idk if i did it iv already got rims that can fit both lug patterns

To be honest with you I think the S-10 idea is better. The S-10 articulates much better than a control arm ranger. The S-10 aftermarket support allows much nicer looking and less expensive front end parts. It does mean some fab work but everyone here is awesome with advise. check your track width and do it man.. Be different. Easy is not always best.

Wow, at first i thought you wanted to put a s-10 frontend on your ranger like the headlights and grill/bumper. now that i know what you meant i would say go with the toyota clip. as stated before then your lug pattern would be the same as the rear/ rotating tires wouldn't be as much of a chore. But, an s-10 clip would be different tho. I dont know, see what you can find and for what price and go from there?

yota has better camber to i think at least with 20s anyways im pretty sure. if you go dime, then ur gona have to have new studs placed in the hubs or get an s10 rearend and just change the bolt pattern all together.

as far as yota goes pre tacoma.

you should have put this in the ask max forum, he told me quite a lot that i didn't know about different front clips when i was thinkin of doing similar, i have also heard the same about the 98+ ranger fronts=bad articulation.

Your biggest concerns for a frame clip need to be fit rather than what its out of. First the track width. measure and see if an S-10 is anywhere close to the width of a Ranger. Im betting the S-10 is much wider and that in itself would rule it out.

next, the crossmember under the engine. does it fit with the oilpan of the Ranger? is the Ranger a front sump or rear sump? this matters and an S-10 has the sump at the rear, therefore the crossmember is notched for this.

next is the width of the frame where it connects to the back and also up front where the body mounts go.

I bet the Toyota is better at all these measurements. I know the Toyota is narrower by a bit than the Ranger and the Toyota crossmember is very small and all the way down at the bottom.

plus the aforementioned lug pattern. plus you can get almost as much stuff for the Toyota clip as the S-10 anyway.

common this is minitruckin right? any guy with a $500 welder and some beer can do anything right? screw the width and the crossmember, Just tack weld it on forget about it!!! WHOOOOO MINITRUCKIN!!!!!
