hate those freaking things.

What I have found, and a few people recommend this, use a 5W/40 oil or similar.

2000 are adjustable 2200 are hydaulic..try getting a mazda oil filter it prevents oil drain back...these truck are famous for ticking ..

every mazda I have owned has ticked. My 2600 ticks when it's a quart low. I put some Lucas in it, some engine restore, change the oil and filter and it will be fine for a while. Then it starts up again when it's a quart low. If you replace the lifters and it stops let me know I hate that damn tick.

Ive been using a myriad of different grade oils5W/4020W/50

Finally..

Shell 25W/60I HAD some rather HEAVY ticking before I switched to this.. after about 50kms, it went away.. and the truck has never gone better!!!

the b2200 has the 2.2 which has hydraulic lifters that suck. it takes nothing to float a lifter. swap your rocker assy over to a 2.0 mechanical lifter assy and you will get rid of the tick. extremely easy to do and a lot less headache than listeng to tick tick tick tick.

for what you paid for the new lifters, you could have gone to a junkyard and got a rocker assy for about half the price. then just swap everything over. just so you know so when they start ticking again you may want to think about doing the swap. are you rockin a weber or stock carb?
