STREET TRUCKS Johny O, Where did he go?

John is good friend of mine and it saddens me that Travis and APG did him the way they did.He was released for budgeting reasons is the rumor aaround the big camp fire and then replaced by jason mullegan or whatever his name is from tailgate...so u release 1 of the best photographers in the industry to replace him with a half ass ..makes sense i guess?
The thing with Travis is he has no concept of what it is to be a part of this whole deal.Make an appearance at a couple f100 shows and he has done his part.John took the time to get to know people and Travis never did.I met Travis at the last showfest.Seemed like an ok dude but i guess not.He and John approached me about shootin my blazer for cover of ST.I was like man i promised the feature to Mini Truckin but travis pushed and pushed but im gonna give you cover.Well when it came time to run on cover Travis shot it down...No biggie !!!!Just hate being lied to.
So i start the Isuzu and get a lil crazy with it ...Now its built to the fullest and way more work in it then my blazer.Again promised cover on ST by Travis.John went to buy plane ticket to fly out here but wanted a 1000% promise from Travis it would be on the cover....He got it Travis said shoot it without the hood for the cover shot.Well we spent most of the day saturday shooting the truck and what not....Guess what it comes time to run on the cover and again Travis shoots it down..i guess cause Travis doesnt get what people want and what people wanna see he shoots down what John offers because John gets it...oh welllllll it will be on a cover anyway look for it soon,Also look for streettrucks the magazine to fall apart.In my opinion John made the magazine what it is and now other than free lancing he is gone.I hope this post opens eyes to the way Travis is...he hates mini trucks or thats the vibe i get.its all about the bolt on easy shit for him.Oh well John i wish u the best buddy and hope all works out for u...

The Final Chapter

Being an avid reader my whole life has caused me to look forward to the last chapter of any book. It becomes the culmination of every storyline and answers all of the questions that I

one of the main reasons I got the magazine....his photos.

I'll be the first to admit that Johnny O is probably the main reason I shoot features the way I do. Since the first time I met him, he has been one of the most straight forward guys I know. When I first started freelanceing, I could send him a feature and he would critic the whole shoot and say what I did right and what I did wrong, not holding back any criticism. This made me see what I was doing wrong and what was needed to make my photos better. Then when I would do a feature great, he would be the first to let me know i did a good job. His opinion as a photographer has always meant a lot to me and always will.

I appreciate all the honesty and support you have given me Johnny! I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasnt for you.......period!

I personally think he is one of the top photographers out there and i hope to be half as good as him one day!

I like Mulligan he takes good pics. I don't think he's a half ass.

But I am sad to hear that John is gone from StreetTrucks. He is a really great photographer and while he was with the mag it seemed like he had a lot of positive influence. ST has been my favorite truck mag over the parst year or so, only time will tell what happens from here.

I think John should head over to mini truckin and try and help them get back on track. I'd really like to see a more professional looking layout for that mag similar to what ST has been looking like.

WOW,well I had heard rumors and I guess they were true, So I want to say good like JO in whatever you do in life....you dont half ass anything so whatever path in life you choose....it will be a great one...Good Luck Buddy

Was my favorite magazine but since they released John, cut our cover, and now didnt have the decency to run John's last editorial i wont buy it again will prob look at it on the newsstand and laugh at what it becomes.........John u will definately be missed and i hope someone at one of the mags with some sense jumps in and hires you so we can continue to see your great pics and read the great editorials you write each month. Love ya brother!!!!!!!!

I love John's work. Even his non-truck pictures are cool to look at. I hope bigger and better things are in store for him- Like Playboy or Penthouse lol.

JOHNNY O WILL BE MISSED!! HIS WORK IS SOME OF THE BEST!! HE WAS A BLAST TO BOOZE WITH!! TRAVIS IS NOT A BAD GUY!! STREET TRUCKS IS STILL A GREAT MAG.!!
