hey keef i paint at a dealership and i have never seen a new car with single stage they quit doing that in the 90's some time

and you can cut and buff single stage just not a metallic single stage and being you dont seem to know a hole lot about painting id say its in your compresser and air lines is where you are getting your fish eyes and if you are gonna sand and clear single stage why not just basecoat clear coat it in my opinion its a lot better and wont fade nearly as bad in the next 5-10 years

Wrong man most all solid colors (no metallic or pearl) are single stage man they did quit for a lil while and now in recent years have started back

If you wiped it down with any kind of degreaser prior to painting, make sure it's not the kind that leaves a residue. Moisture can do it as well so make sure you run an in line water trap. Jason is right anything that is slick feeling like tire wet, armor all, etc.. has silicone in it and that is a big no no when it comes to paint.

No need to argue or tell somebody they are wrong when u have no clue whats goin on man. Im done with this.....If u want to find out for fact u are wrong try doing a lil research since u obviously dont do much work or youd know about most all solid colors being single stage urethane systems

single stage lacquer(sp) and single stage urethane are 2 different animals. im pretty sure keef is right, as urethane base/clear and single stage look exactly the same.

This is what I was taught in school:

Don't use fish eye eliminator. It's main ingrediant is silicon. Basically all it does is make the rest of your car look like the problem area. Once you spray it on a single panel, the rest of the car will need it too.

Not sure if this is true. All I know is, if there is a possability that a chemical has silicon in it, I'm not letting it get anywhere near the shop. That shit never goes away. It just spreads. I just sprayed a corvette (4 times trying to get rid of the damn fish eyes)that had a similar problem.

Try spraying something else to see if it's your equipment. If your spray test comes out fine, then you know it's something to do with the car.
