i still cant seem to find out anything on how to determine the ratio on pivot arms...like the spider web ones above..or for any pivot arm for that matter..ive seen 1:1 work before..but is it different in all aps?

determining a good ratio to use is a personal choice based on how you want the vehicle to ride. A 1:1 ratio will ride the same as a normal bag with a 2:1 ratio being softer and a 0.75:1 being harder. From what i have seen people usually stick with a 1:1 or a bit softer to keep the handling comfortable.

There is a lot more to a cantilever or bell-crank than simply the ratio of the pivot itself. On the truck pictured above, the ratio would be more than the 2:1 ratio that the bell-crank looks to be because of the relationship between the pushrod and the bell-crank itself.

I'm not sure yet how to explain what is happening, but I will figure out how to put it and post again later.

Hey Max, Where's a good place to get Delrin bushings at?

How about this Max....do you see any problems with this..Just curious as I helped a friend design it and would like to know if there are any design flaws in it.

got any pics of it in the lifted position?

Jack at HM-engineering.com has Delrin bushings. He can sell you parts individually or in a kit form.

Thanks Max.

One thing also to consider and correct me if i am wrong but when you do a ratio larger than 1:1 lets say 2:1 you affect the total load capacity of the bag. For instance: if the bag has a 1500lbs capicity and you run a 2:1 ratio your load capicity is now only 750lbs. I hope that makes sence.

back from the dead.. ^^^ max is this the case from what abadsvt stated? also could u determine to me which areas would have the derlin bushings..for example on that pic posted? Also anyone have any pics of the same canti concepts but with the bags mounted horizontal? thanks everybody
