In my opinion, any pivot that rotates around a fixed axis should be either delrin or bronze. Typically, the only part on a cantilever system that rotates around a fixed axis is the fixed pivot of the cantilever. For example, the center cantilever of a watts-link system is what I am referring to as a fixed axis, the part should not be allowed to flex around, because it will cause undesired movement and flexing.  I hope that makes sense.

Also anyone have any pics of the same canti concepts but with the bags mounted horizontal? thanks everybody---------------------------------------------so im not 100% sure about this because im not an engineer buuuuut that setup on that truck isn't a true "cantilever" set up because a cantilever is a second class lever which would place the load(weight of the truck) between the fulcrum(pivot point) and the effort(airbag).  that setup is a first class lever because the fulcrum is between the effort and load...its just bent at a little over 90 degrees instead of being horizontal.  with that being said and if im correct you could calculate the the weight of the load by weight x distance from fulcrum on force arm=weight x distance from fulcrum on load arm. a 1:1 would be like 1500 lb force x 1 ft=_____x 1ft which would be 1500 lbsa 2:1 would be 1500 lb force x 2 ft=______x 1ft which would be 3000lbs and so on so what abadsvt said would be right only he placed the truck on the other side of the equation making the weight of the truck the force and weight on the bag the load so 1500 lb truck at 1 ft=750 load on the bag at 2 ft. correct me if im wrong because i very well could be but thats my understanding of it.

i know this is dumb but in a 2:1 ratio is the 2 meaning the arm length from the bag to the center point? so the arm from the bag to the center point is longer than the arm from the center point to the push arm? or is that not it at all?

2:1 is a ratio. What that means is that the bar is seperated into 2 equal parts, so if the bar is 25" long then there will be theorhetically two 12 1/2" long sections and the bag will be mounted 12 1/2" from one end. It can also refer to travel. If a suspension has a total of 10" of travel and that is broken down to two 5" sections of travel, the bag will move only one of those sections, being 5". It's tough to explain without haveing a good understanding of the math involved, but it works for many different things.
