I love beer too much to give it up.... I dont really drink to get drunk tho. I truely love the taste of beer.... BUT as life changes (marriage, kids, self/public image, added responsabilities) you are sometimes forced to change your old ways and focus on more productive ones...

More power too all of you looking to make a change! This sport relys on image and alcohol can definatly distort it....

Wow i haven't been on street source in years!!! I heard about Mikes post and had to come and check it out. I am one of the older guys (30yrs old) and one of the quiet ones that never talks but I thought i would chime in and give my 2 cents. I don't think you should stop drinking Mike. But like other guys on here i hope you learn to control it. I know you already know this but i believe a lot of the younger crowd look up to you. So when they see you drinking and getting out of control they think its cool to do it. I hope you start to realize the influence you have on the younger crowd as well as the scene.(which im pretty sure you already know).

The times that i have hung around you (when you were sober). You were a cool guy and always seemed to be focused on how to make the magazine bigger and better! The one thing i really liked is that you would always introduce yourself to people hanging out or if you just happened to be stopping by a tent full of mini truckers at show. I believe that was one thing some past editors lacked in doing, actually reaching out to his readers.

I hope the magazine continues to grow in the direction that you have taken it. So the next time i see you at a show i will hand you a beer and tell you to take it easy!!! LOL! I wish you the best of luck Mike.

MIke you should quite going casino rather than quite drinking.I'm sure you gonna loose lots of bucks at SEMA just likeyou had lost $200 in only one hour at Hard Rock casino in MS LOL

Just joking, I know that's very hard to decide, you the man Mike!As bgdmadza86 says all the elder guys,club members, and magazine guysshould show younger people good example at shows or parties.I also keep staying cool at shows when you are not in Japan;o)

I with ya bro I had to quit I looked up one day before i realized it I had lost my ride my home several jobs etc. see im like throwin sparks I cant stop once I start i did rehab to still sober almost 4 years later married got a couple rides going just bought a home I go to alot of shows to each there own drink up if you have the power to control it what kills me is the drunk guy at the motel throwin shit at our trucks then u have remove his ass somewhere other than that shit it does not bother me my friends have a few at shows no out of control shit thou if i cando it sober anybody can

amen mark, i have a beer in my hand now, i drive to shows drink the whole day leave the money in the parking lot, and get a ride to the after party, its all about being responsible, i drove my truck drunk once at a show gator drag 06 and messed my front fenders up bad, since then park it drink and have a kick ass time, good luck though mike its all about what you want
