I was in the second week of my first semsester of college as a non-traditional student. I woke up for class and flipped on the tv and was greeted by utter pandemonium.

i was working with my first electrical at the time. i had heard it on the radio but thought it was only a prop plane or something i didn't realize at the time how big it was. i remember everyone lining up at the gas stations thinking gas was gonna sky rocket in price by the next day. we did end up going to school that night and the owner of the company told us to go home and be with our families. it was a scary time thinking we were going to go to war with someone and not knowing who. my unit didn't get called up untill a year later after i was already discharged. so my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who lost loved ones at the trade center, pentagon and the third plane that went down after the others and for all the men and women who fought for our freedom there after.

I was thinking about this the other day. I was driving to school for my algebra class. I had been listening to a cd on my way which is something I never did on the way to school I usually had the local morning show on in the radio. I remember waking up and getting ready for school early. I thought i was one of the most perfect Sept. days here in tennessee not to hot not cold. just right. One of those days when dont expect anything to happen.when I finally heard what had happened I went inside the building and everyone students, professors, and other people where standing around watching the tv in the hall. we had a math test that day but our teacher decided it was just too much stress on everyone. and about that time the 2nd plane hit. she told us to go home and be with our families and pray for the people in New York and the people in Washington. The rest of the day i didn't turn on a tv or the radio. I was amazed how everything I looked at looked different to me. How things changed so rapidly. I was amazed how the life i had grown accustom to absolutely disappeared. nothing was the same after that. sorry for the novel. Everything just kinda came flooding back to my memory. I was holding my lil girl when i first started reading this. I wish things were back the way they used to be for her sake but I know they never will be.

i was aboard the uss John f. Kennedy. i was sitting at my work bench when couple guys came grabbed me, told me to turn the tv on... we had just pulled out (couple hrs) for a training exercise. instead of heading for st.thomas, we headed for new york. it was craziness, we were all ready to go party in a few days, then the shit hit the fan, it was all business after that. some of our planes were the ones flyin the area afterwards securing everything. we stayed out in the atlantic for round a month... came back got our shit in order and we headed out for 7mths... Arabic sea sux!

Yep, pretty much the same for me and the Stennis. But come on, the pretty neon lit Arabic sea at night while out on the smoke deck? Yeah, it sucked!!!!! During that deployment, I was so sick of looking at the water. Now I'm in the Army and about get a hard on when I see the water! Tired of seeing the desert!!!!!!

12th grade and was in the middle of switching between first and second block, going from drafting class to CP English and the principle came on the speakers and said that it happened and when i was in english we watched it on tv just as the seconde plane hit. my now wife's uncle was in the building beside the wtc when it hit. he said it was unbelievable. he doesn't like to talk about it much. makes him sad.

I was stationed at Ft Hood Texas. I'll never forget that day because that morning, physical training was hell. Our whole company was loaded on the back of 5 ton dumps at 4:30 am and driven 25 minutes away from main post. We had to run all the way back which was hell. Well, everyone made it back and I went to my house to shower and get ready for duty. I was sitting at my computer looking at Yahoo. The headline read that a plane hit the WTC. I thought that it was an accident until the second plane hit. I knew that we were under attack. I loaded all of my gear on my truck and went to work. The whole post was on lock down. I'll never forget that day. I 'll never forget the friends I have lost as a result of that day.

well , i just want to say THANK YOU for what you guys did(and the rest of the military) if you just sit in a ship or whatever, its the fact you guys where servering our country and im sure ready to protect any other things that might / could have happened that day... so again.. not to sound corny... but THANKS!!!

but i was at Wal-mart and seen it on there tv.... i called my dad in another state and we talked about it for awhile.. .didnt know what was gonna be next.... more hits, or even damn wwIII ...i watched as the second plan hit, and also watch as the building collapse, i really couldnt imagine being in a building and the floors coming down on you... still this day it has an impact on me... i got pics and books of the before and after and etc.. and pictures of people jumping out of windows to there deaths....

kinda wondered.... what would have happened if they took down the Statue of Liberty ? i mean , not as much death , but what the statue stands for. how hard would that impact the nation as well?

I was at work early that morning pressure washing the paint off of my beretta that I was doing a bunch of body work on. I had heard about the first plane on Howard Stern on the way over to the shop, so I cranked it up on the shop radio. Needless to say, after the second one hit, I pretty much just stood there with my mouth hanging open.

Never forget that day.
