wavey bedsides around wheel opening.....

just as it states...no wi was thinkin of weldin in 1/4" round bar along the wheel openeing on the inside, but i have some bedsides that i can cut patch panels from...which is gonna be the best way to do this....i know this sounds dumb but im slow sometimes...

welding in rod or new panels is going to cause alot of heat which will get you right back to where you started..wavy bed panels.....what is the reason they are wavy in the first place? if its not a strength issue..just fix them..if it is..do the rod thing and at least have some strength when ur done

well the problem is i have titan wheels on my truck and the offest is incorrect so they rub (came on the truck), and the fact that the lip wasnt rolled it was just cut off, so really there isnt any strenght ther at all, so between the cracked sheet metal and the waves around the top of the wheel opening i need to do something, i dont want to have to keep welding cracked sheet metal. i know the culprit is the wheels and im workin on gettin rid of them.the truck is no longer a daily anymore so it is parked, so it can sit on jack stands....

weld rod around inside of wheel well

I used "edge wire" in all my wheel openings, rolled the extra sheetmetal over the wire, welded the seams, and smoothed them. I'll post up a pic if I have one.

is goin the rod route that much more better than havin a stock wheel opening with a lip still intact...i mean the edge of the wheel well is pretty fucked and after welding the rod it will still need a substantial amount of body work imo to get it straight...maybe im missing something and am wrong, i dunno, thats why i asked...ill try to get a pic up tonight when i get home so u guys can see what im talkin about...
