my isuzu is body drop with a 2.6. the problem i have is that the radiator sticks up 3 inches. i want to know what you isuzu owners did to get it to fit under the hood. i have thought about shorting the radiator and finding a different radiator from a different truck or car. so hit me up with your thoughts.
when you cut and drop the frame horns the radiator drops with them. so the radiator should be in the stock position in reference with the hood. how did you cut the front?
yeah ummm, if the truck is bd and everything lines up but the radiator doesnt go in, you did something wrong. the radiator should fit back in the stock location. i am betting you didnt cut the front frame horns and lower them.
What year is it? When we bded mine we a similar problem. We ended up using one from a 90 for my 93 because it was actually shorter. If I remember correctly there is 2-3 inches difference in the heights.
i bought it bd, but looks like the core support was cut. the radiator fits in the normal place, but it just sits up the 3 inches. i can't cut the bottom support because the power steering line is in the way. i have a radiator book i've been looking through and found a 84-87 isuzu pickup 2.2 with a 1 inch smaller than my stock. has anyone tried one or have any idea on it.
wow, ive actually never heard of someone just cutting the rad. support. honestly, i would go to a junk yard, do some searching, and when you find one that will work, go home call up the parts store and order one.
really the right way to fix it is to put the core support back to stock and cut the frame horns. if you dont drop the frame in the front the bumber wont go back on, unless you mod the brackets. honestly it probably took more time and effort to do it that way instead of the "right" way, if there is such a thing when you cut up a truck. haha
