I'm talking about something a little more specific. Like, a little more precise parts list.

Let's just say I am inquiring about the purchase of a 12v hydraulic management set up (without the suspension aspect because I can't say exactly what vehicle it will be on)...what parts would I need to buy, modify, make...for the most part it looks as if the management system can be assembled strictly from off the shelf parts. That's what I would like to buy. One time. I do not feel like experimenting with hydraulics which is why I'm asking Pat-the-expert.

Thanks. Call CCE and order an integrated pump you can use it @ 12v straight out of the box. It has a smaller gear in it already. They changed the design some years ago to make it more affordable by putting in a smaller gear. But make sure that it has the smaller gear when you order I don't know if they have changed anything. ONLY use the Pro Hopper large diameter cylinders NOT their 1.5 inch. It takes less pressure to lift them. This system will be a lot slower than you normal hydro set up but a lot faster than a normal bag set up. Use just one solenoid a Ford starter solenoid part # sw-3 I think CCE carries them. If not use the Accurate from Pro Hopper.

I would run a Dekka battery part# 1231. Then go get to your local stereo shop and get a high amp battery isolator solenoid(make sure it's the solenoid type) to charge it off your alternator. If you want it even more reliable have your starter rebuilt at you local shop for a higher out put and run two or those batts. You can try 2 on your stock altimeter until it goes out and just rebuild it then. It might take it though and never go out. Oh and make sure you if you use two batts they're wired at 12v.

Each system has its draw backs. By writing a list of ideas and saying they are so doesn't make them. Cars come from the factory with air. The rear bags in my truck have been on it since 95. It had the same 1/4 airline for 10 years until I upgraded it. The truck has had the same airtanks for 15 years. I only changed compressors because AZ sponsored them. All my gear is under the bed. You cannot make general statements to cover everything as that is just small minded and misinformed. Both setups have the same issue of installer can do alot. Both setup will have issues if you are switch happy.

In another thread you praised airbag products from a company. Now you rip on them because you are on another forum. Also remember your post about cussing. The internet is no different on how people respond.

Guys I didn't want to start an air vs. juice thread. I like both and will continue to buy and install both. I just like juice better and was explaining why. I might keep the bags I'm finishing the back this week and the guy who owns it really wants to keep the bags although he told me to use what ever I thought would work the best. You can fix your Hydros at Lowe's and Wal Mart to get home. They both sell orings and fittings...... But if your cylinder bends or your bag explodes you're stuck unless you have a spair. Any one who rolls bags or juice should carry extra parts. Just like a spare tire is a good idea.

Here's the link to the air vs. hydraulic debate please use this I will respond in there.

I can't wait to see the finished product of the Ram!

Is the finished product gonna have all the oversized mailbox stickers all over it? I say if your gonna put stickers on it go for big chrome "RAM 1500" stickers down the entire side. that would be...pimp-o-licious! Lets see some more pics of the progress! I wanna see how it works!
