oh, and next on my list of things to make this all flow together is to put my sweet old school toyota cressida wagon window cranks and get some sort of a better looking steering wheel on it. i was lookin at some grants. and i want to put a cool turn signal arm on. im thinkin 70s dodge truck. i have a spare turn signal high/low beam setup that goes at the top of the collumn, so i could just swap them out. im trying to have some nice chrome and aluminum accents here and there.

oh, today i also got the shifter arm from an 80s supra. it had the W58 tranny. i installed it, and it bolts right in. but the half sphere pivot is slightly smaller than the W50 pickup tranny, so it was sloppy. but, i can tell it would be alot shorter throws and it angles the stick towards me better. im going to have to cut the bottom of mine off, and weld it to that to have the proper pivot ball on it. so, ill end up aiming the stick exactly where i want it at.

so ive got a few ideas for the color scheme layout of the interior. i have a white vinyl headliner and visors. and i dont have nor want tint. so, im thinking about painting the dash a slightly off white color, then redoing the black vinyl down the center of the dash inserts. get the chrome on it all shiny again (insert edges, knobs, switches, ect). possibly paint the gauge faces white with black numbers or silver with black numbers. and i really, really like the grant cruisin classics steering wheel (the 502) with the 3 arms and the holes in it. i wanna run that in a 13.5" inch. i found on mooneyes'es website i can get it with a white vinyl wrap. then get black carpet, have a bit of white on the console when its built.

i dunno. what do you guys think about white in the interior of an orange truck? im thinking like a semigloss for the dash. im going to probably run without a pad, since its smooth underneath. hopefully between my jobs tomorrow i can tear into the new cluster a bit and get started on that part.

What kind of shape is your current dash pad in Joe? I'm looking for a good one for my 74 if yours is decent maybe we can work out something. Lemme know, tx.

its in pretty nice shape, like the whole truck is. its got a small tear or two in the top though. everything on my dash is in good shape and works if you need other stuff from it. i was just going to hang it on the wall of the shop. haha.

Send me a PM of what you would want for it. I'll have to check on shipping, I have a place in Michigan I can have it delivered to to avoid border B.S.

id like to do a dash swap in mine....i wouldnt have a clue what would fit with little modding (but that wouldnt be fun). I want that big gangsta steering wheel like a school bus wheel

so it looks like im going to have to do alot to make the gauges fit in the stock cluster area. not so much mounting or wiring, that should be easy. but actually getting the 2 big and 3 little ones within the edges of the frame. haha.
