not the purtyst but its strong. I think it was like 1/4 inch thick 2x4

the bottom bar mounts were made out of the same stuff the back of the mount was radiused to add strength

thats 2x4 turned on its side its under and in front of the cross member to.

made the c notch and frame box all one piece i cant remember how thick but it was preaty damn thick

excuse the mess we built it in the ocean air and in the sand so I wire wheeled every thing and sprayed it with rustolem while we were working on her

With that much travel it happens even the ons uve posted will do the same thing once they move that far away. They are perfectly flat and in line layed out.Im not jacking on your work and not sure why you did on mine but put a bag on this and tell me its not the same

Hey Keef, I wasnt trying to come off as a dick so I apologize. I wasnt knocking your work at all.

As for your comment on the bag being perfectly flat and inline when laid out, I have a different opinion on that. Everyone sets there bags up this way and I really dont know why. I always set bags up to be at there best alignment at ride height, which is where they will see the most use. From there I ensure they stay as close to within 30 degrees angular misalignment and 1" center line misalignment as possible. So they may be a little out when laid out, and a little out when fully lifted, but always within those guidelines which I got from the firestone engineering design guide.

I know your way is most common and it obviously works for most people. The bag in your pic might look worse than it really is because there is no air in it.

Thats cool man i wasnt sure and yeah i try to not have them too far out of wack and that one is within tolerances at ride height.

mine is pretty simple. i didnt want mine to look cluttered.

Make sure you watch your rear suspension. When you put the bags on the bars and have them hanging off the side of the bar it tends to twist the bar as it lifts and over time your bushings tend to go out. When my Ranger was bagged originally we did this and that what happened to mine..

Here is mine currently to show bags on bars..

Thanks, glad I could help you out. If you need tubing bent i'm sure that myself or someone else on here could bend you up some pieces if thats what your looking for. Also theres alot of nice clips being posted with some really good ideas!

Yeah it is.. If your bag is not directly centered it will cause a twisting movement as it goes up. Even a inch off center will cause it to twist maybe not much but it will try to twist. Yours is almost all the way off the bar from the shots you have posted. That is going to cause it to have problems.. Trust me I've been there, done that and had to fix it after going through a set of bushings.

Here is a shot of how mine was before we fixed it.. It's just about the same as yours is..

Kind of a crude description.. This is a gif I made years ago showing what will happen..

I'm just trying to help you out.. If you don't want to change anything then I'd keep a eye on it. You may not notice it now but once the bed goes on and say you haul anything back there it will eventually cause it to twist as the bag pushes on the bar.
