i agree on its best to have it centered, i too have been around a while and i know it will twist a lil bit but i have done a few with no trouble over even a exstended amount of time and driveing. the type of end pushings make a difference. not all are the same width or quality and the bed has been on. those are just old pics of it with out wireing and air line. i think ur being over dramatic and i thanks you for ur concern.
if you want to slit hairs then the bars should be out as far as possible for stability. round bars bend easier than square bars, thats why people at extra suport to them. gusets welded to thin frame wall rip out.and square tubing bends easier when force is applied to the side. :CENTS:
Yeah it is.. If your bag is not directly centered it will cause a twisting movement as it goes up. Even a inch off center will cause it to twist maybe not much but it will try to twist. Yours is almost all the way off the bar from the shots you have posted. That is going to cause it to have problems.. Trust me I've been there, done that and had to fix it after going through a set of bushings.
Here is a shot of how mine was before we fixed it.. It's just about the same as yours is..
Kind of a crude description.. This is a gif I made years ago showing what will happen..
I'm just trying to help you out.. If you don't want to change anything then I'd keep a eye on it. You may not notice it now but once the bed goes on and say you haul anything back there it will eventually cause it to twist as the bag pushes on the bar.
