my grandpa told me once, the more carbon is in the metal the more bittle it becomes when heated (cast?), he also told me that normal "weld" steel you get at like lowes or home depot or tractor supply has a very low amount of carbon and heating it up and bending it doesnt make it as brittle. I dont know how true that is but the part that needs bent on the rangers doesnt seem to be affected since a lot of ranger guys heat it and bend it.

its very possible to lay an I beam truck out but you run into a major camber problem no matter how you do it just because of the way I beams move. I have personally run into this problem my self on my 65 f100. My trucks on DJM 4 inch drop beams with z'd stearing linkage, and a z'd frame. I had to get some different offset wheels in order to lift all the way with out rubbing the fenders. But with my wheel/tire combo(they are just steelies) but its the equivilent of a 26 inch rim on a 30 series tire.

heres some picturesit lays body

the frame

and heres some i beam photos
