here is the setup on mine. like everyone has said it wont get low at all. it got the tire even with the fender, which is about what you can do with drop springs. mine lays now that i raised the strut towers 3".

if your stuck on air and want to use a cylnder,,smcs will work just fine,,i have used them many time in mcfersons but they are big but ride pretty decent,,,holla at adam or andy at mic master image customs they will hook you up  i got some pics of cylnder setups on mcfersons  www.myspace.com/illicitcustoms  but i deff recomend juice i personally love my juice setup ,, and have used air lift struts alot also  they ride nice also

CAN YOU KNOCK THE RING/CAP OFF THE STRUT AND IT NOT COME APART? THERES A BRASS RETAINER ON THE TOP OF THE STRUT, AND IT'S WHATS IN MY WAY..

HEY PHATMX6, WHAT DID YOU USE ON THE MATRIX? THE COROLLA AND MATRIX ARE THE SAME AS FAR AS SUSPENSION. THE 03-08 ARE THE OLD BODY AND THE 09'S ARE THE NEW. I'VE COMPARED  THE SETUP'S AND THEY LOOK IDENTICAL. ANY INSIGHT THERE? THANKS

EAI makes an x-aircylinder made for cars with mcpherson struts it has a bearing assembly on it towards the bottom heres a link  http://www.universalairsuspension.com/_images/support/xair.pdf this should do the job
