the top link bar makes it a three link if im not mistaken

If you only had two lower link bars, the axle would fold down and destroy the u-joints the first time you tried to accelerate.

if you placed the panhard betwwn the two forward lower links and connected the links so they wouldn't pivot wouldn't that save u the hassel of dealing with the bag clearing that upper link? my trucks a 2link set up this way and I have not had any issues. is therre a reason the way youve set this up is better suited?

Then it would have a 2-link, and no where for the gas tank to go. Once I move the upper bar there won't be any clearance issues, and it will still have a 3-link. I think this is the best option for this truck. And I wanted to use a Panhard bar since it seems like everyone is afraid of them now days.

Panhard bars are great if you aren't getting a lot of travel out of the rear end. I am sure you already know that though. Work looks great Seth.

would the suspension still work without that upper link?

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by low99mazwould the suspension still work without that upper link?--------------------------------------------- No. without the upper link, there would be nothing to keep the axle from twisting when you hit the gas. The panhard won't do anything to stop that.

In that range, the axle only moves an 1/8" to the side. Panhard bar is pretty long.

Looks good so far. Can't wait to see more.

I swapped out the bushing on the upper link for a 3/4" rod end, and it solved my clearance issues. The bag now has plenty of room to do it's thing. I am now satisfied with the link setup, so I welded most of it up. I need to pull the axle to finish the rest.
