Sounds like you should never drive slowly Kyle. Because bad things happen. 1/2 ton on a 1 ton yes there are reasons they have different gear in the first place.  If they had professional engineers doing the design they wouldn't do the 1/2 in a 1.  Hopefully with the new balljoints that will fix the problem.   And much like everything else in the world. I'm sure there are many that swear by the products. Chris used them on any ford he dared take in. Carl had them on the crew and beat the living out of the truck. But those were all half ton trucks with half ton parts.  BUT just like ANY control arm company there are people that swear by and swear at.  If you contacted them and they failed to respond to your liking then relaying your experience is what needs to be done.  Did the pops a dent work on the toyota?

hrmm i wonder why they didnt just use the 1 ton balljoints to start with?? maybe cost savings and ease of development, not good.

sounds to me like you should just move down here where it rarely ever snows. you'll get longer life out of them. nah seriously though, that really sucks and is a liability issue on their part. this isnt a matter of just bad balljopints or bushings, its an unsafe design. as i recall they do not recommend using their parts with airbags but thats not the case here. i would maybe talk to a lawyer. im sure you can modify them to use the 3500 balljoint but the fact of the matter is you payed all that money not to have to.

A    few years ago, maybe in 2003, I worked at a Chevy dealership that did customs work. They would sell new trucks with drop kits and wheels and all. They had basically the same truck with the same exact problem. Customer was drivng it and SNAP. I left before they problem was resolved but I am fairly positive it was DJM arms. Hope that helps.

Were they greased? They look pretty dry in the pics if you ask me. I have never heard of any kind of balljoint issues with DJM and I sell alot of there products. But I am also not familiar with the differance in the full size balljoints. Also if that was an upper balljoint I dont knoe how it was even seeing that much for to break it, and its not even bagged or juiced.

Sorry all that happend to you! Glad no one got hurt! I have a 4/6 drop from DJM on my daily and when the tire shop was putting on the upper and lower arms they asked me about the ball joints and I said they came that way.... So now I'm worried!!!

it does look dry   but judging by the pic  its not a wear issue  but more of a weight issue  since the metal actually broke a worn ball joint will just pop out of the hole without breaking it

hey jim, the pops a dent did not work for the yota... thanx for your concern tho.. to everyone elses comments.. i havent greased them since i bought the truck... however, the 1st balljoint, it actually fell out of the mounting plate, and this second one, the actual metal broke... and to anyone worried about their djm parts... i really do think that this is a major problem cuz theyre using the wrong part on a HEAVY ass truck, i dont think u guys would have a problem.. but then ago, who knows! stupid lowered trucks!

That sucks!  If you can't mod those DJM arms to accept the correct balljoint then lets just make some new arms!  Anyways, glad to hear no one was hurt or that there wasn't any major damage to the truck.  Hit me up if you need anything Kyle!
