If you have had all forward in the past, you will probably be disappointed with reverse. A guy in our club had a bodied 4Runner with a forward 4-link, and I sat in the back comfortably.

You don't have to have super long bars, look at Max's Nash. What is important is what the suspension does in the confines of a usable range. Do you need 36" of lift for daily driver? Probably not. Keep it simple, and make it work for what you need it to do in a safe matter.

You all know I hate them as well. Thanks for keeping the reverse 4-link hating clean guys! ...Seriously! The issue with building a link system for a odd vehicle is that they will never be that simple, so throw away the idea that you want a simple 4-link. Accept the fact that if want a decent suspension system you are going to have to work at it. The Nash is a perfect example of how to set up an odd 4-link.

hey max i was just lookin at the nash and i was just wondering how much travel could i expect with something like that... and if you have much travel would the pinion angle go nuts.?  not really lookin for 20 inches of lift or anything lol....  ive already got the front all done but im trying to maximse my space for the back of the 4runner.... it looks like something like that might work...  but im by no means an engineer.... and with the car at ride height how would set the bars up...  what would be a good rule of thumb? thanks for takin your time out of your busy day to help out a hillbilly......  also if it helps im lookin to lay out on a 225\30\20 tire.....

^^^There really is no rule of thumb for that one... not that I can easily explain anyways. Your best bet would be to make a paper doll of your suspension and see how it acls as it runs through its travel.   ---------------------------------------------Originally posted by ChadCrissDesigntheres is absolutly nothing wrong with a reverse fourlink suspension... im running it on my titan and i have perfect pinion angle at all heights---------------------------------------------You're obviously new the the Ask Max forums...

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by TwistedMinisYou're never going to win the reverse vs. forward battle. I stopped trying. Just give them options, and let them choose based on that. Is it going to hurt you if their truck doesn't handle well?--------------------------------------------- Actually yes. Being a shop your name is on everything!! they can blame anything wrong, or something they are not happy on, right on you. Just as if you sold them cheap valves, they break, stop working, its your fault. you put on a 4 link reverse, it drives like crap, they blame you for the ride.
