wtf my 6 inch z problems help!!

i have a 68 c10 with a 6 inch z i am having problems mounting steering wheel and steering shaft and a few other things on that side i am running 22's with 305/40r22 its also airbagged and lays frame.tires stick out of fender well as well.

i am in the process of tubbing firewall and also the clutch linkage i am going nuts on it

Im curious why you z'ed it 6 inches....most only z in 2.5....some have gotten away with 1.75. I zed the 68 in my profile 2 inches....then dropped the frame horns and body mounts an additional 1.5 to lay rocker. It's bodied past the rockers slightly and it didn't need to be tubbed on a 265/35/22......

6 is just way overkill What was already said should put u on the ground flat my first one was 2 and 3/4" just for a little extra clearance.  Your going to have an extreamly funky angle and tough time getting your steering link to your box without alot of play and slop not to say it can't be done but a pic of your 6 inch z would be interesting to look at to c maybe we could give u a few more clues of how to go about it?

yeah my buddy helped me he says we needed 6 inchs to lay frame i have to tub firewall as well find a way to make steering work along with finding a way to make brake booster work along with the 2.5 inches of tire that stick out of my hood he says if we did a 3inch z it wouldnt lay frame as it sits it lays frame but i am not too happy with it i wanted to take out the z and redo but he wont do it so i guess i am stuck with it honestly i am so mad im about to strip truck and send to boneyard and start all over after a year on this truck and it sucks

MY 87 BURBAN LAYED FULL FRAME, WITH A 2.5" Z AND NO TUBBING IN FIREWALL ON 265/35/22S.  STEERING WAS JUST FINE. IT WAS A DAILY FOR OVER 3 YEARS BETWEEN ME AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER

tell your buddy to get out of your garage, cut everything loose & do a 2.5 Z
