That sucks! We have all been there before, did something that is going to have to be redone. Keep at it! There are quite a few threads on here about z ing a frame for a C-Dime Here is one:http://www.streetsource.com/forum/topic.aspx?topic_id=105290&Topic_title=z+notching+a+84+c10&forum_id=19&forum_title=Chevy%2fGMC+Trucks

You gotta do your own research for it, it is your truck after all.  My brother doesn't touch anything on my truck unless he gets the ok from me. And it stopped being a cherry numbers matching factory piece as soon as you changed the suspension in the first place.

All I can say is...If you're not sure ask questions, questions and more questions. There are enough smart people on this site that have been around frame mods enough to have answered your questions. Remember the old saying..measure twice, cut once!!

Direct sheet metal makes a smooth firewall for older trucks, including the 67-72 chevy's.  You could try one from them www.directsheetmetal.com

what about lift? if you're z'd 3.25" too far, that's 3.25"  of lift you have to try & get back.i think you are making WAY MORE work for yourself by trying to salvage a poor design.

Yeah man, your suspension is gonna be pretty much locked up at ride height.

damn man that sucks! did your friend have any building experince before screwin ur shit up??? how did he get the measurements to think that it needed a 6 inch Z???? crazy man, i wouldnt even waste my time trying to get anything from him, just tell him to get the fuck away and do it yourself.

Your suspension will be way past its useable travel if u get it high enough to turn........just redo the Z
