Collapsed Accord   +1y
---------------------------------------------Originally posted by nvr53---------------------------------------------Originally posted by AON-OFFDAHOOKIt appears that those struts are fully collapsed.  You can modify your struts up front and get more drop, and you might be able to cut the bag cup shorter in the rear which is unfortunate since the kit should have had this done for you.  The best option is to sell this and run Hydroholics stuff and you'll be tucking some rim....---------------------------------------------dont do it .hydrolics? yeah rite---------------------------------------------yeah right what ... he is stating a fact if you would like a unibody car lower air is not the way to go unless u plan on cutting ur car to hell if u just run a nice juice set up then the car will sit alot lower with no cutting ... but hey what do i know im not a MINITRUCKER

I have an 07 magnum sxt and it is rear wheel drive with independent rear suspension. This being the case you just have to make room for your wheels at all four corners as long as your air kit allows it to go lower.

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by bodydropped50Well my buddy from Airlift got back with me today and said the only way to get the car lower is to notch the unibody for the axles in the rear and notch up front so the control arm can travel up further. ---------------------------------------------

That seems odd, how do the universal air and slam kits get so low then?
lilbuddha   +1y
well and talking with people in messages why does hydraulics get so low without cutting
also where im laying out the car is hung up on the struts nothing on the body,
but i think the car is gonna go to tre5 as soon as i can sell my air ride kit for my car

Tre5 is the Hydroholics.net company friend/fabricator/preferred installer.  I've known him for about 12 years and he's extremely talented, and works no-nonsense fast, and I would certainly go through him for any advice or work.   Hydraulics go lower than bags for a few reasons.  1) You have a cylinder thats 1" 5/8 in diameter and because there is no bag, there is nothing to rub on (upper control arm, inner fender, etc.) and with a bag it needs to be placed carfeully in there for it not to rub when the control arm swings upward.  2) The Hydroholics cylinders have threaded bodies like on a coilover, do depending on what size wheels you have you can adjust the settings higher or lower.  3) Because hydraulics can lift you 8" or more, there is no worry about sitting too low and not getting enough lift or it topping around when you clear a nasty intersection at a high speed.  Hydraulics with accumulators is essentially hydro-pneumatic suspension.  Yes you use fluid to lift, but the suspension rides on a nitrogen filled "bag" (diaphragm) in the accumulator itself.  And despite what many people tend to think (or post on here), hydraulics ride awesome (sometimes better than bags), are VERY reliable, have minimal maintenance, and do not leak with the proper equipment and installation.  The proplems people usually associate them with are rides that hop 6 feet running much more than 48volts putting pumps and lines through extreme wear.   I am not anti-airbags, I just have discovered all the benefits to hydraulics over my several years experience and have chosen to develop hydraulic innovations and change the negative view of them.

well ride isnt really a issue, im ok with a not so nice ride,
but wow these easystreet struts make wicked noise, before i had srt8 struts in my car and no noise at all and then did this and every bump just a huge clunk,
ive heard easystreet has come out with new struts to get rid of this noise but kinda at the point if i can go lower with hydraulics "to little to late'

yeah have messaged tre5 back and forth a few times, he has been very kind and helpful was actually talking with him before about going with him before i got my easystreet kit, but i got this kit locally for a awesome price so thought it would be awesome

i love bags but im open to new things if this will get me lower and still be reliable and i wont have to butcher up my cars suspension then im all for it
thank you very much for your advice AON-OFFDAHOOK now i just gotta look more into charging of batteries, cause my friends used to have a hopper and it rode like crap but every 2 days he was out there charging his batteries

Just to respond to you (I'll quit after this), batteries should last you anywhere from 2 weeks to a month depending on use perhaps your buddy had bad batteries?  Being in Canada where it's colder, perhaps running a gel cell may help with them lasting.  I usually just plug them in overnight while I'm sleeping, no biggie - or you can get a streetcharger (streetcharger.com) if you are really against charging batteries, hehe

you dont have to quit, you provided alot of info that helped alot,
but yeah im gonna look at this street charger cause i live in a bad neighborhood and would rather not have anything very easy to steal haha
