I have just gotten my hands on a 1968 mercedes 280s that is all original aside from tires, exhaust, and brake master cylinder and I am about to do some stuff to it. I don't know how to post a pic of it but I have pics on my myspace.  http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=115813808&albumID=2390537&imageID=37807968  could somebody help me out and post up a pic? It getting bagged, suicide rear doors (keeping handles and moving them up front), wide whites, pinstriped, and thinking about a full sliding rag but not sure on what color to get so thats still up in the air. its a gas burner and auto but its still cool to me. I still have all the original papers from when it was new so that was cool to find. Mabye it will stand out at a show and get noticed. let me know what you guys think.

I would but since its a benz I am keeping the a/c. especially since its still cold and filled with r12. should I ditch the side reflectors? looking at it now is making me wonder if it would look a bit better with them gone. I am keeping the trim though. I do need to do a bit of restoration work on the inside though like the fabric around the doors and I really want my windows to work so that is a priority. when I go to repaint it I am going to stat with the original horizion blue but Im thinking of adding a bit of pearl to make those curvy body lines show up more but not sure if it would look so good. it would either be a blue or white pearl and I would only use about 5 grams. a color changing paint would be cool but it would deviate from my plan for it and staying retro with it. I want it to look restored and cool at the same time. I also have to put in a system since it doesn't have anything now at all. mabye Ill just listen to my phone when Im driving and keep it classic.

GO TO DOWNUNDERTRUCKIN.COM and ask those guys, they build a lot of these in australia and new zealand, these are like their cadillacs. I know the prez of the New Zealand chapter of NR has one. They call them Merc's. so when i went their he told me he had a laid out merc, so im thinking hes got a 50-51 Mercury all done, holy shit, im thinking damn thats big money, lol, wow was i suprised when it was an 80-something mercedes lol

I bagged a 63. It was kind of cool to drive, totally different. Had an inline 6 and two single barrels from the factory.  With a little notching out back and some floor work, and stepping the front arms about 1.5" and moving the exhaust it would have laid flat. I'd like to see one actually laid out.

I saw that benz on youtube. I think its for sale now too. I don't really care for the fin tail the older ones had but its still a cool car. how hard was it to bag? did it lay at all? On youtube it looked like it did lay flat but I guess not unless some work was done after this pic. what size bags did ya use? I want it to ride like stock or better and lay out or close to it but I prefer flat out.
