--------------------------------------------- Originally posted by crochface well i dont put someones project in line until the day they pay. so there were a few people who set me a request one month and then waited to pay me another month and then once they pay they wait in line. so there might have been a couple people who waited a couple months. but once they pay i try my best to make sure thier work is done no later than 4-6 weeks from payment. ive been through some hard times latley so there may be a few exceptions. my computer crashed a few months ago and ive been looking for a new house for the past month and during this time i got an insane amount of work requested at once so i got very behid schedule   but im moving next week and im finally back on schedule. iv got about a 2-3 weeks wait on renderings at the moment and most importantly the wait is all for good reason, because i take my time. on average i spend 3-6 days on a rendering. and i make about $5 an hour doing it=) its always worth the wait. i take my time on the renderings for myself usually. i dont want to finish something im not proud of.   i have a 4 page spread in street trucks next month (in the june issue i believe), about my renderings and stuff. there is a sweet new rendering in thier. you guys will have to check it out. i layed out the article myself. ---------------------------------------------   what size did you make your article for the mag? i wouldnt mind puting something together for my self.

Terry if I am not mistaken though, that is something Street Trucks contacts artist about...Nick correct me if I am wrong...but that is how it was when they ran an article on my company back a couple years ago...out of the blue you will get contacted by Street Trucks (more then likely Travis) and they will say hey we want to run an article on you and your work...thus it is not an ad nick is paying for but rather like the Radical Renderings that Truckin' does.

Yes I know that is how it works...but wasn't sure if the same situation was going on with Nick...who know he might have made some kind of deal with Street Trucks...that is why I told Nick to correct me if I was wrong on his situation that was brought up.

I wasn't challenging you RJ, I was agreeing with you.  LOL.

No worries bro...it was confusing because you said I was "correct"...but I wasn't asking if I was correct on how it generally works...I was asking Nick to correct me if his situation was different...never know.

Ya I was just backing up on how it generally works.   In other words you cant just send in a designed to page spread and expect them to run it, you have to be asked, generally anyway.

either that or buy ad space?

well technically you could make an article yourself and offer it to the magazine without them even contacting you first and its possible it could get ran, the same way people submit tech articles. people dont alwasy ask for them sometimes they just get offered to the magazine. if you do the work for them and its desent work, they might be glad to run it. in my situation though i was asked.
