Ground wire is as important as your power wire, I suggested you run 4AWG wire from battery to compressor, compressor will perform better with larger wires! If any questions please shoot me an email to
paul@air-zenith.com I will help you out buddy. -Paul, Air-Zenith.
www.air-zenith.com ---------------------------------------------Originally posted by Nissan4x293---------------------------------------------Originally posted by BigMikeAtGaugeWe have sold quite a few allready with no complaints. I actually have one setup in the warehouse that we are going to run some test on after lunch today. I havent had anyone call with any questions about a BURPING sound. You are running adequate wire and only running the compressor while the engine is running? ---------------------------------------------Hi Mike,It's running 6 gauge wire with the relay that came with the OB2 and an heavy duty 80AMP fuse to an optima battery, this worked well with the OB1, the "burping" happens even just running on battery or even with engine idle, even if I give it a little gas while the engine is running, it still does it. My alternator is 90AMP as well. Thanks for you answer Mike, sounds like there is something wrong with my comp. But let me know if you hear some more about them, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------AZ_Paul, thank you so much for all this information, maybe you could shed some light on this, the ground for the compressor is bolted at the same spot as before when I had the OB1 but I did sand everything out this afternoon just in case and still the same issue. BUT what about the ground for the relay? Because right now we took the relay that came with the OB2 and installed it at the same spot BUT the relay was already grounded BEFOREHAND to the truck box, now my friend just realized that the red wire going from the comp. to the OB2 relay also has a black wire beside it and he thinks that this is the wire for the ground for the OB2 relay?? BUT during the installation, we basically crimped both red and black wires together then hook it to the relay which would mean that the OB2 relay is grounded twice and this could be causing our problem??Please let me know because tomorrow morning I intend to cut the black wire from the crimp and this time only the red wire will go to the OB2 relay and this should resolve my problem since that the OB2 relay was already grounded, what do you think? Hopefully this is the problem because I would like to keep this OB2, beside the "burping" it is working really well. I will check the forum tomorrow morning because I'm too tired now!! Once again, thanks for all your help!!---------------------------------------------Nissan, You should not altered that factory pre-wired relay because that relay is part of thermal overload protection. OB2 comes with pre-wired relay socket, all you have to do is connect that Yellow wire to your (+) pressure switch and that Red wire to your (+) battery, that is it!! Please try to restore all wiring to the original factory condition and run compressor again and let me know tomorrow, thanks buddy! No worries I will take care you. For all OB2 owners: PLEASE DO NOT ALTER OR REMOVE THAT FACTORY EQUIPPED RELAY AND RELAY SOCKET, FOLLOW OUR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION, YELLOW WIRE COMING OUT OF RELAY SOCKET GOES TO (+) PRESSURE SWITCH, RED WIRE COMING OUT OF RELAY SOCKET GOES TO YOUR (+) POWER SOURCE. www.Air-Zenith.com ---------------------------------------------AZ_Paul,I was waiting for your reply as I was not too sure about the red wire and cutting it, do not worry I did NOT cut anything. I will follow the above instructions and will get back to you later on today. Thanks again!---------------------------------------------Nissan, There is nothing wrong with OB2! Sebastien from S.C.Sportruck told me you're his customer and he said he did cut that factory pre-wired relay socket and this is the cause of incorrect wiring. Try to get your wiriing back to the same factory pre-wired condition, do not cut that factory pre-wired relay and relay socket. Call me or email me on Monday and let me know if everyhting is ok. We have Tech Support, if you guys have any questions about installations, please call our office at (702) 270-7988 or shoot email to:

tech@air-zenith.com I don't understand why you have to jump on this form room talk nonsense without contacting Air-Zenith in the first place? You think this is fun to bash someone's products? I don't think so. Paul, Air-Zenith
www.air-zenith.com ---------------------------------------------AZ_Paul, NOW I understand!! When you first mentioned the pre-wired relay socket. I was like, what the hell is he talking about!?!? So, I called Sebastien again and he told me at that time that he had cut it. I guess that we all learn form our mistakes I will try to get Sebastien to come over again either today or tomorrow. Thank-you so much! You are very helpful! I'll keep you up to date on how we resolved my issue!
