A an building a Blazer, that I lowered the motor, sectioned the x-menber, and I ran into the same problem.  I am using the Hedman short headers, with Air-Ride Tech control arms.   I rolled a 1" socket in a rag, and put a dimple in the header tube (ceramic coated), and I even had to section the control arm a little bit.  Now on the frame I even had to notch that to be able to run the exhaust.  If I think about it, I will take some pics tonight of what I had to do.

ok, so i found a solution. we have an old oldsmobile rocket motor out in the barn. i went out to swipe the plate that goes behind the fuel pump off of it. when i was taking that plate off, i was looking at all the shit on the motor. "hmmmm, these exhaust manifolds look just like the 82-92 camaro manifolds. holy shit, i think these will work!" sure enough, i brought them over to the truck and they bolt right up and they hit NOTHING. i believe they are similar to the 82-86 camaro manifolds since they are pretty close to the valve covers/gaskets and i have heads from an 87-95. so i really need 87-92 camaro manifolds, but i will make these work, and use high-temp silicone on the gaskets if i need to. lol just glad i don't have to shell out $300-$400 for the headers i thought i was going to.
