I have been reading on here about bagging an 04 F150. I started looking for parts for the front and this is what I have come up with. The 3" Belltech drop spindles Part # 2350BLT, the 3" DJM lower control arms Part # CA3205L3, and the Chaos Fabrications upper control arms Part # 80501. My question is this, has anyone here used those upper control arms for being bagged instead of lifted. Also, I saw that some of you lifted your upper control arms 2" and others did theirs 3" first off, why and second, how high should I really need to go? I haven't really looked at my front suspension yet so I am sure I will see why when I get back home and start on it but I figured I would go ahead and ask. I am gonna run 22s. phr0zN said that he got his back from Mind to Metal and he can only run a total height of 29.75" if you read this phr0zN is this because of the wheel well that was installed or is that the distance from the ground to the fender when it is laid out? Also, did you have to Z the front to lay out on that height? I am thinking that I am going to Z the frame behind the cab and use a smaller notch so that I can keep most of my bed space. If I have to Z the front to lay on 22s (not knowing what size tire yet) then I think the best option would be to go ahead and do a SFBD. Also, what size backspacing are you guys having to run? I am trying to get all my info so I can start getting parts on order so that when I get home for good I can do all this for the month or two that I take off.

I might could help with a small part of your question. I have my upper arms raised 2", i realize its an older truck than yours but same principal. I have 22s,  I used the ektensive metal works kit to do this. I think some people do 3" cause of larger wheels. You dont have to I dont think but you get crazy camber if you dont. If it were me I would email all of those questions to Ektensive http://www.ekstensive.com or even call.   They are not only extremely knowledgeable so you'll for sure get an answer you can rely on, but they are some of the coolest and most helpful guys out there.

Edited: 6/21/2009 1:57:54 PM by phr0zNI can run 29.75" because of the inner fender where we set it.  You should not have to Z the frame to lay frame on 22".  My frame is not Z'd, just a small notch over the rear axle and after i re-ran my x-over pipe I am laying flat out on frame.  Actually, my suspension actually pulls my front tire up enough I can free steer the front end when I am lay'd out. If you are still in Troy you are only about 3 hours from my front door.  If you want to schedule some time you are going to be around I can take a trip over one weekend and you can poke around under the truck to see what you need to see. Or if you are gonna be down around Houston way for anything, let me know. Hope this helps,

Thanks for the help. Mikey, thanks man, I figured it had to do with the camber but wasn't sure if it also had to do with stuff hitting as well. I talked to the guys at Extensive last year at Texas Showdown, really cool guys to hang with. I will definitely give them a call, I didn't know they made a kit. That is sweet. Thanks bro.

Big Will, thanks man. I will hit you up when I get home. I know right where Conroe is. I grew up not far from there. I may try to hit you up when I come home on vacation next month but that will depend on if the wife will let me. hahaha.

What kind of backspacing do I need to look at to lay 22s?

Thanks for the help, as soon as I get back out here from vacation I am going to get all my parts on order.

I am running +35 on my 20's and will be the same on my 22's but will require me to flare all four fenders not to rub at any height.  Unfortunately that is the only spacing the rims I like come in. I would recommend probably +38 or +40 not to have that problem.

Well, bro, I am still looking but it looks ike I may be in the same boat. All the wheels that I like only come in a 35 offset as well. I am looking for a black wheel with a chrome lip so if anyone comes across one with the 38 or 40 offset let me know. haha. I have Nick at Surface DVD doing a rendering for me, so I will post that up once I get it.  Thanks boss.

Check my profile for plenty of pics on my front suspension.  If you need more, let me know. You will need to move x-over pipe on the exhaust up into the frame rails.  You will also need to lift your gas tank or you WILL drag a hole in it.
