Well, it's been a while since I updated. I was on vacation for a week in SC, and before that I was getting the Benz finished. So I finally got around to spending some quality time with the Mighty Max. The link setup is in and tacked in place. It works well through the travel. The lower links are mounted through the frame. There is an insert welded through the frame for the bolt hole. There will eventually be a double shear piece as well. The crossmember for the upper wishbone clears the raised gas tank. The mount on the axle for the wishbone isn't finished yet either. I took some closeups of the joints. I don't think people take enough time to make the joints fit perfect. I only use a chop saw and a barrel sander to cope the tubes together. Anyway, on to the pics...

Love the link mount bolt through the frame thing.  I think this is going to look pretty cool with the setup that we were talking about last night.

Link mount looks awesome i just have a question. I dont know much about heim joints but with it mounted sideways  dont that limit the amount of travel your link can move?

Its funny because you said someone would ask that question  ^^^^^^ as soon as you posted the pics.  Funny.  The heim will travel plenty enough and is much stonger laying on its side than standing up.

Yeah, the heim travels more than enough mounted the CORRECT way. It's good for probably 28-30" mounted this way. I don't plan on coming near those travel numbers, so... no problems with mounting the heim the way I did. The way it is mounted is the right way to mount a heim when doing a wishbone. The forces against the heim are lateral (the wishbone keeps the axle from moving side to side), so if you have the bolt lateral you are putting the load on the heim wrong. Think of how they get the ball into the socket of the heim when they are assembleing it... it comes in from the side. So if you mount the bolt vertical, the loads will be transfered to the sides of the socket and the ball won't be trying to pop out. Anyway, here are some pics of it in travel. I jacked it up so that the tape measure read 13", took a pic of the tape measure and the heim joint. Then I let it back all the way down, and took the pic of the tape measure at 1" (which is the gap between the axle and the notch) and the heim joint. You can see there is still plenty of travel left in the heim with 12" of travel.

oh yeah, I also built the rear frame rails and got them installed today as well. I took a pic looking straight down so you can see how much clearance there is between the tire/ link bar/ and frame... not much.
