he shoulda just welded the doors shut on the ranger since its that easy to step into and out of, then unibodied it so it would have been one solid piece of metal from the front to the rear.

I too hate being doored...I hate it now and I'm not even painted...it's gonna be really hard to handle once it's painted...gonna take alot of extra work to keep it nice....Id rather of kept my rockers...would make alot of stuff easier.

I had to replace the doors on the rodeo before I welded them up because they were totaly destroyed from layin TRUE DOOR. Deal is the bottom of the door is a folded over piece of sheet metal thats what 22ga? maybe. Once you drag thru that the skin separates from the door structure and the now flimsy door skin gets caught on stuff and bends and twists and turns into a huge mess.... I ended up plating the Rodeo with 1/8" when I welded it up, the Toyota also lays TRUE DOOR but I want to paint them both so Ill probably plate up that one too, maybe 1/8 or 3/16. Last thing im ever going to want to do it have to re chop and paint a set of doors cuz I smoked them trying to be too hard core for my own britches lol.

The bottom of my cab where i cut the rockers off is plated with 3/8....whenever I paint the truck ima drill and tap the 3/8 so I can bolt and unbolt a piece of metal to keep the doors off the ground on a everyday basis...then at shows...unbolt them and put down mats or something. It's gonna be a pain in the ass...The bottoms of all my doors look like ass...but i'm reskinning from the bodyline down with 1/8...so there gonna be fixed and the 1/8 should make it pretty durable for any accidents that might happen....so at this point it's pointless to try and preserve them. Antoher thing im doing when I break it down for paint is raising the ride height...a 2-3 inch ride height is really badass if your videoing or something...but hit a rolling dip at 85 and bottoming out all the time is fucking horrible...id rather roll higher...atleast 3.5-4...lol. I can't wait to paint my truck..... Primer=
