yeah the whole deal is a big work. dumbest idea ever IMO. sure, lets get people out of their PAID OFF cheap to own and maintain vehicle, and bury them in debt of a new car to try and save the auto industry that failed due to it's own poor business practices. I have worked at 2 dealerships now, and you wouldn't beleive the things they do to you when you buy a car, all the unseen expenses and stuff they add in to the price. after the stuff I've seen, unless I can walk in and buy a car straight cash, I will never buy a new vehicle  and also for the cars they are destroying, that is a shame in another sense too. there are other people out there that can't afford a new vehicle and would be happy to pay a fair price for these vehicles to drive. instead they are destroying them so noone can. also when they go to the junkyard, what about the people that need an engine for their vehicle, and don't have the money to buy a new one or another vehicle? or don't want to get rid of their car because all it needs is a motor.  sometimes their only option is to buy a junkyard motor. what about those people? I hate the fact that they are trying to tell us what we are supposed to drive. I will stick to my old, loud, gas guzzling and harmful gas emitting c-10, and they can keep their priuses and shit

Up here in buffalo NY we already have a new car incentive program. its called winter...just about every vehicle that makes it 10 years is ready for the crusher..assuming it was used as a daily driver. Many of the vehicles going in up here are totally rusted out, and wouldnt make good projects anyway. IMO the MGP shift should have to be at least 10 MPG or nothing. I dont see how it helps the country to give 3500 for someone to make a 4 MPG jump, you can make a 4 MPG difference by altering your driving habbits, and keeping your vehicle in propper operating condition.
