Tom, To start you are wrong.  There is a 4.8 V8, not a 4.3.  Small blocks are different than newer truck engines.  Small blocks were used from 1958 to sometime around 2000.  Best years are late 90's Vortec engines if you don't want to build one.  A 4.3 is a smallblock with 2 cylinders chopped off to make a v-6.  It fits because it is shorter.  You can buy transdapt engine mounts from summit, their bolt in and are pretty nice.  I know a guy who has been running the stock toyota radiator for a while with no issues.  I'm going to give this a shot.  You will need a water pump from a 1958-1968 Chevy car.  Like a 65 chevelle ss.  This is a short water pump, you can grab one at napa for $45.  I would recommend an HEI distributor, the kind with the coil not in the cap.  They are smaller diameter.  I haven't gotten to headers yet, and I'm mounting the factory A/C compressor and toyota alternator to the small block.  If you run an LT1 you can fit it under the hood and it doesn't have a distributor.  The hardest part to me was the trans tunnel and making the distributor fit.  I have the HEI distributor with the coil in the cap, and I'm running a Edelbrock Performer 600cfm. Hope that answers some questions.-Ryan
