Just want everybody to be aware and be safe.  I know some welders that have used brake cleaner for years and didn't know this.  ALWAYS read the labels.  There is a great thread on www.Jalopyjournal.com on the H.A.M.B. section on this.  Any cleaner with Chlorine in it can do this.  Just use Alcohol if you need to  clean stuff to weld. Definately some scary sh*t.  We don't need to lose any more MiniTruckers, especially to something easily preventable. Help keep this at the top so everybody see's it.

I have had that white puff of smoke while I was welding, must of been lucky and not inhaled it. Thanks for the warning, not going to be doing that anymore.

This needs to stay at the top for a while. People need to read this. I never would have known until it was too late. Bump - now go read the article if you haven't yet.

Oh ya, there is a ton of items that become extremely toxic once heated or burned from welding, even some anti-spatter sprays are bad once welded on. I know it's hard to remember sometimes, but always look at the labels on some of these solvents, and it will tell you exacatly what can happen if it's heated up and yes, brake clean is a bad one, we had remove it completely from our welding shop.
