---------------------------------------------Originally posted by TuckingLugs05i dont see why poeple want so much lift isnt the point of laying something out is to lay it flat on the ground not have the ass end lift 6 feet more then the front..all u need is the clear the tires and on soem you dont even need to untuck the tire to turn..i know with my 4x4 front fenders i can turn real low ..and the only times i ever lift my truck is to load it or bust a u turn and thats about it oh and pot holes but you can move around thos ---------------------------------------------HAH! YES! remember when it was about how low you could go not how much lift you got? any way the truck is fvckin rad! i think the shockwaves should give ample travel,i f they cycle a extra 1" or 2 they should be perfect., is thAT  a knuckle st up? you build it? looks dope. im gonna be lurkin in this thread for a min.....keep us posted w/pics!

Edited: 9/23/2009 3:00:33 PM by fiveinchbodydropworks lookin good (but i agree with the tabs are to small dia) the lift issue is something to think about... its easy to SAY you dont need much left, but to actually drive one of these trucks bodied on bigs wheels (22's+) is another. my truck had rim showing above the fender lip(hood line, hell it about got a lug up front)... so you have quite abit of travel just to get the tire even with the wheelwell. having said that, i know its possible to ride low ( ie narrow arms/ track width, etc) im just pointing out the obvious

I was only curious, i've never dealt with shockwave's but know a lot of people like them.  I love the way they look.  I never liked rubbin tires on fenders (especially large expensive ones) while trying to turn, so i like my lift.  Full sizes don't have the luxury of getting wider 4x4 fenders.

Can I have it when you're done?

--------------------------------------------- Originally posted by iLLblazer With those control arm tabs, I dont think he was questioning if they were strong enough, but that the tab doesnt cover the bushing surface. You should have tabs with the same radius as the bushing ends.   Anyways like I said the build is looking killer. What spindles are you using? --------------------------------------------- spindles are from a 2002 Corvette ZO6

well lets remember the tabs are covering at least 3/4 of the bushing, which is polyurethane, and it does have a steel bushing inside of it, the diameter is definitley not to small but thanks for the heads up.

Maybe it will be fine, but I would always cover the entire bushing. If nothing else, it just looks better because it looks like it fits. The tabs you used don't "look" like they are the "correct" ones for a bushing. Like I said, I am sure they will work, but why cut corners on a full chromoly, tig welded frame. I would much rather see the "correct" tabs on a mild steel frame. There really is no need for a full chromoly frame on a build like this even being a high HP motor. Unless you are terribly concerned with weight and engineered the tubing sizes and compared the weight difference of thinner wall chromo vs. thicker wall mild steel. That is, other than bragging rights. To each his own.

Aside from the first page, I don't see any pictures. I'm not seeing this bushing/tab issue.
