--------------------------------------------- Originally posted by loudciv --------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Pacificustoms Inside of wheelwells.       --------------------------------------------- love it. any particular reason why you riveted to the fender lip as opposed to welding it to the firewall itself so there would be no seam?   just curious, because i'd like to fill the gap in my door jam, but had planned on attaching to the firewall. --------------------------------------------- It's actually not riveted.  The screws in the fender lip are countersunk allen screws so they don't stick out at all when you look at the wheelwells.  The other piece is held on with button head allens.  We made it removable to help when taking the fender on and off as there are bolts located behind it.  This is also being built as a driver so this will get rock chips that will eventually need to get fixed.  We're going to powdercoat the panel black, then use black primer before actually spraying it black and buffing it out so when it does chip it will hopefully chip to black.  I know it took more time to do it this way, but I feel it's the better way as the more removable panels, the easier it is to work on in the future.  The photos don't show it, but these will be full wheelwells all the way down to the frame, not just the top of the fender like in the photos.  We're also going to fill in the front portion of the fender as well and that piece will be removable to access the battery easier.
