I'm running Sanderson Block Huggers.  I'm adapting the stock 5 spd so I left the trans in stock location.  I used Transdapt engine mounts, but cut them and welded them in to take up less space.  I'm going to give the stock radiator a try, I know a guy from Alabama that used the stock radiator and he says he has no problems what so ever.  I'm also going to run an oil cooler right behind the bumper which will help with the temps.   A common misconception is that a 160°F thermostat will help the truck run cooler.  In reality it will only help if the radiator is larger than needed.  With running the smaller yota radiator I'm going to use a 180°F t-stat.  A 160° would never close and that radiator isn't big enough to constantyl cool the engine down.  When the t-stat is closed the water in radiator drastically cools down.  Then the engine hits 180° t-stats opens and cool water rushes into engine.  Shortly after it closes and tha radiator cools the 180° water down.  An oil cooler can help drop the temps by 10-15° in some cases.  The yota radiator is larger than some of the radiators guys are using in street rods. What is everyone doing for Fans?  Thats about where I'm at. -Ryan

i ran a 95 dodge dakota radiator out of a v6 model it had the tranny line ports and fits nicely between the rails and its a 3 core kept mine cool in my taco with an electric fan from jegs  also the best v8 investment i ever made was a gear drive setup for $100 thru jegs make the timing much better

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by BagD72Chevy What is everyone doing for Fans?  Thats about where I'm at. -Ryan--------------------------------------------- I used a Howe Racing Aluminum radiator recessed in the core support (offset to passenger side to clear the steering box) with dual 10" electric fans.  One fan @ top right, one @ bottom left. This way the crank pulley just barely clears the fans.

Are you guys running A/C?  I could push my radiator and A/C condensor forward to gain space for e-fans, or a flex fan.  Or I could run a pusher set-up.  Not sure what to do.SPICY2-The Tacomas have wider frames than the earlier toys I think.  I'm not 100% sure but I know the core support mounts are wider, I have an 04 rad support and it won't bolt on to the 92 frame.

also on a side note GM small blocks do like to run alittle hotter which is why 180 degree t-stat would be better than a 160. most SBC do run stock at 195 degrees
