i was on my lunch goin home when a cop tracks me down a mile from where i saw him parked and pulled me over for cvc26101 for modified tailights and cvc 24002 unsafe vehicle.. the unsafe vehicle was for having air bag suspension and havin my bed cut out... ive been lookn for where it says bout air bags suspension and cant find anything, if anybody has had same problem and went to court to fight won or any place where it actually shows about unsafe vehicle for modified suspension...

hey bro...sorry to tell u but your not gonna win that one....it IS in the california vehicle code. i dont know word for word what it says, i have the code book and have personally read it tho...basically in cali its illegal to modify a vehicles suspension or chassis beyond factory specifications...it doesnt matter if it lifted lowered bagged or juiced. my buddy got the same exact ticket and had to non op the truck and sell it because he was no longer aloud to have it on a public street....you can try to plead with the judge maybe and see if you can say that maybe it was designed by an engineer and the work was done by a legit shop or certified welder  but good luck, i doubt even that would do much because then they might say that you can only use it for offroad purposes....also try putting on some temporary limiting straps, bump stops and a disconnect switch on the switch box so that you can show proof that the vehicle has a very limited range of motion and the switches are disabled while driving...also if your runnings big valves and lines try putting in some reducers to slow it waaaay down....maybe theyll let you slide if you can show its safe and easily controlable.....good luck

does it drag muffler? doesnt look that low. On the ticket did he take your vin# if not find a truck thats stock the same as yours and swap plates, and go get them signed off

in sc how do they know a car has it unless its dragging, hitting switches, or they stop you for somethingelse and look under it  cause sc doesn't have inspections so its not like they can pull your inspection sticker off.  thats the one thing i miss about my home state,  no inspections.

most states have codes about altering suspensions (up or down, in GA it's +/- 2" regardless of how its done), bumper heights, etc. He appears to have let you sort of lightly because GA has these stupid laws i know that CA would HAVE to. best bet is just to pay the ticket and let it go, if you fight it then they are going to find 230842038 wrong with it and make you dismantle it... from what i've learned MOST cops don't pull people over for no reason, either you were driving too fast, driving too low, music too loud, etc. all i can say is be careful about what your truck says about you. probably wouldn't hurt to take that GIANT MOB sticker off of the back window, not really sending the best message to a police officer. your tail lights are wayyy illegal in any state, plus you have no reverse lights, another no-no in most states... put a tarp over the bed hole, pay the fine and try not to let it happen again

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by automatik23 its illegal to modify a vehicles suspension or chassis beyond factory specifications...it doesnt matter if it lifted lowered bagged or juiced--------------------------------------------- I am not sure if it still that way here. Last I checked Idaho was the same way. They normally leave it alone, They will get you if they can see that part of the vehicle is lower than the bottom of the rim.
