have you measure from the rocker to the bottom of the the rear window?   I don't think you can squeeze a 26 in there.  Its only like 32"   anyways best of luck!

do an independent rear end, and you will be able to make it work.   might be easier to pull your frame and throw it away, and start with a entire new chassis.- although this might be way out of your budget, it will make you happier in the long run.

We are toying with different ways of making it work.  I have got my motor for the truck and the bare block is at the shop and also got my new dash that we are going to make fit my truck.  I'm using a 454 big block motor and going with a 1949 cadillac dash for that all metal dash.  We are getting ready to pull the frame and truck apart.  I'm just tryin to make it as easy as possible for the guys in the shop.  We already have enough work load on our backs and im not there much, so they have me on the phone all the time to make the next choice on which way to go.  I just hope it doesnt take 4 or 5 years to build this maddness.  LOL

Well, Im just stopping by to let you guys know whats been the going thing.  We  have been going crazy around the shop and I have been running wide ass open on the road, making that loot.  Now that our Car Club show is behind and I have bought myself a dually for daily use and towing this massive rebuild project we can get back to work on the ole girl.  I will have pics of the new truck, so dont worry guys.  Hope to see major steps here in the near future.  I will be back with some new pics of the ole girl!!

Wow...a big body 4 door burb with a 454 on a 275/25/26...good thing u got a good tow truck for this project. Looking forward to some progress. I think it'd look just as good on a 24/26 staggered with some meats up front To handle the weight of that big block. That's alotta weight on a really small tire.

I think i should be fine with the big block in the nose of my truck, cause im shaving down an ass load of weight.  Im not putting the AC or nothing but the motor and basic things needed to the front of the truck.  no batteries, heater box gone, windshield washer assembly gone, and all the extra wires out.  She is going to be a full blown show truck.  One reason I knew it was time I find myself a chevy dually to tow her big ass with.  Yes, I dont think I will have any issues with towing her down the road with my dually.  Wished it was a diesel but the 8.1 Liter should do find with the Allison tranny behind that monster 496 big block. Had to have a chevy towing a chevy though.

It was cool as hell to see you guys at resurrection show this past weekend and thanks for the positive comments!!  Hell, I got back to the shop and off loaded the civic and was ready to start tearing into truck right then.  As for all the peoples that use the word "IF", well you will see when the time is right.  We have alot of work ahead of us and its not a simple body drop.  For all the guys that have private messaged me about the wheels going into the glass, well yeah they are going about 4 inches into the glass.  so imagine a 26 sticking past the back windows in a suburban.  Hell im more excited to see it a rolling chasis as much as anyone else.  How to see you guys at the next show im able to make with the new dually.
