Politics and Trophy Chasers

Im not one to complain, bitch, or cry about shit but this has been eatin at me for the past few years. I dont know were or why it came about but sence when has politics taken over the scene? bout every show i attend always hear threw the greapvine that so and so shouldnt of won its all cuz of this person, club, shop or were you are on the food chain. Should we also split into donkys and elephants??? even when it comes to buying a vehicle thats been around the scene awhile it seems bullshit talks money walks. really whats it matter who rolls your old ride and if their gonna keep how you left it either way all are vehicles are gonna be a thing of the past one day so what the fuck it matter now?? worlds full of dumb asses someone will end up with it one day and cut it all up (CAUSE THATS WHAT WE DO!). And for you people who cry why didnt i place or y didnt i get first place SHUT THE FUCK UP!! its not about chasing trophies its about comin together for one comon thing and shareng ideas and stories. but now adays at every show theres always that group of ppl that cry why why why? who cares who rolls the hardest loudest shiniest or most colorful or whatever, were sposed ride low and hold our heads high and just have fun. my idea is just give everyone at the show a fuckin trophy and watch the crying stop cause what would there be to cry about you got a fuckin trophy thancks for comin...im done ranten n raven my spelling sucks i appologize. weahter this makes sence or not it just one of those days....

I agree with you..Ive been to many big shows and never recieved an award or been in a video. I just recently got a small pic in truckin magazine and it felt good to finally get some acknowledgment to all the hard work and money i put into my truck. But the thing is, i dont really care if i get a trophy or not....i go to shows to show off my truck and have a good time with my friends...not for a 2 dollar plastic trophy.

Also, it seems like your truck HAS to be bodydropped to get attention these days...people ask me all the time when im gonna body drop my truck...it gets annoying.

ITS FUUNY YOU SAYTHAT I WAS JUST THINKNG IT THE OTHER DAY, WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY AINT TROPHY CHASERS ARE THE BIGGEST ONES IN MY OPINON. recently at the sittin pretti show was my first show in a very long time -a few years actually- that i didn't trophy (well i got 1 for stereo db's, but that's all store bought shit so it doesn't really count) & believe it or not, i was actually happy to see all 3 go to other people. to me that means the quality of vehicles in my class has gone up. my attention to detail is extremely meticulous so to see 3 other people do better than me means there is some badass, high quality trucks out there now. i'll admit it felt kinda strange to not hear my name called, but walking around the show grounds, i already knew at a quick glance who they were going to. that's just more motivation to finish the truck to the caliber i expect it to be...not for the trophy or recognition, but for my own satisfaction of being at least up there with the rest...i'm my own biggest critic...you know how it goes.

Ppl love drama, that shit is everywhere. You can't change the actions of others, only how you react to it so just ignore it and have fun with your truck.

yeah we could just give everyone a participation trophy so nobodys feelings get hurt like childrens sports now a days. ;o)

Well, I got a little different perspective. The "crying" has been going on for all the years I've been involved in this hobby

18 grand for my taco and you can cut it or take it to the crusher trust me I won't say a word. . . Just saying. And about trophys it's cheaper to buy them than spend 20 grand plus on a build then a hundred bucks on gas, food, and entry fee. I'll pass of the trophy chase my friend.

Lowtoy i have to agree with you on a lot of what you say. Like Sean B. said if we loose it should make us want to work harder on our rides not bitch and complain on why we lost attitude. I think no matter what sport/hobby/game we do politics are always thier no matter what and people will always complain no matter what. I think it's how people act is the problem If we win we should be humble and greatfull not "LOOK WHAT I DID" and if we loose we should be a gracious looser(not meaning if you do not win your a looser). To me a show is where we can see our old friends and make new friends hell even get some idea's for our own projects or just plain make us think wow!! how did he do that or dam that looks sweet!!
