Guess I rattled somebodys cage.

I noticed before when he built the back half he dropped the frame rail behind the c notch to lay flat on the ground. That having to do with the length of the mounting point of the lift bar and dog bone... all im saying is that the dogbone should have more ground clearance. You wouldn't want to bottom that thing out since its attached to the rear end and not the frame. That's why they make generic 4" ones so that you can just set the height of it in the rear mounting point of the bar on the frame. And now your going to have to have an extended bag mount that will need some gnarly supports/gussets because of the excessive weight of the frame and/or load be will be pulling if this is a tow rig. That's y I said it should be closer to the frame. Im not trying to be a wise ass or bash on this guys work. I obviously like what he's doing here. Just growing in my 2

Looks like the rear bars are the perfect distance from the frame to center the bag on the bar. I am not sure though. Also, the longer you can make the dog bone the better. I have never done one shorter than 5". You obviously want to mount the pivot as high as you can off the back of the axle, so that you keep the lower point off the ground as far as possible as well. But saying that it shouldn't be longer than 4" is a dumb comment to make. That's like saying your 4 link bars shouldn't be longer than 24" because that's a generic size. Build the suspension around the truck... not around the generic parts that are available!

This is a killer build. You have put a lot of work into this so far and looks like a lot to come as well.

Can't wait to see more- it's awesome that you are keeping it a long box!

the lift bar is off the frame just enough to clear the bag
the bag will be mounted centered on the bar with this mount :
