Im not panicking or anything, but you will probably get some flex in those notches. I used a piece of 2x3x.25 as the top of the notch in my F150, with .188 fishplates on both sides of it, and I get a bit of flex out of it with just the weight of the rear frame, bumper, and box. You definitely seem to know what you're doing tho, so Im looking forward to how you set this up. Cheers!

yeah i hear ya man, if i was just to fisplate them id see alot of flex. im actually going to fishplate the main notch joints with .25 plate, and the 2x4 to the frame with .188 plate. im also adding a .25 gussette under the notch that will fit to the axel kinda like this. i threw it together in paint. it should strenghten it up BIG time.

its a rough idea, but i think it will tie it all in nicely.

who originally bagged it?

why even do the box tubing? You could just cut sides, top and bottom and do some internal gusseting.

heres the update for tonight. not as much as i planed but we remade the notchs. before anyone freaks out there 2x3x.250. the reason i did that is im going to run a peice of .250 plate like a huge gussette in the notch and "hugs" the axel. i think it will look real cool and help a TON in strength. i hate the way 2x4 notchs look. plus i think its going to look awsome. its all getting fishplated. it will be shown tomorrow. on to the pics.

heres the notchs burned in. like i said im still going to add gussettes inside them.

heres the sparkler aftermath

and here are the bags he sent to go on it. there semi sleeve bags. the go from 8.25" compressed to 24" extended.

Tell Skinny he isnt heavy enough to even collapse that big ol bag! haha Cant wait to see how this badboy comes out homie..

hahaha ryan that was actually very true. shit i could barely colapse them!

taylor, they are massive, if i like them i may trade my dually for them. i have semis but mine are double bellows...

jeremy, i should have, but i already got the notchs in by the time i thought. so its actually just going to be a big gussette. not boxed on the bottom. i think it will look real good and ginda help everything flow together. but i see exactly where you are coming from.

well these are the updates from 3/23/11. it was a late night so i didnt get to upload them. well here they are. just a ton of fishplates. its all out of 3/16ths plate since im adding the .25 gussett under the notch. it was all plasma, grinder and welding last night. took me so long because 80% of the time i was by myself.

tonight i will start on the parrallel 4. so firing up the ol' tig.
