Great... as if there aren't enough pissing matches, now we're going to argue about what wood is better??? LOL

Most college campus's are MDF-free. It has formaldehyde and some other dangerous stuff in it. Lol, that's my nerd moment for today that I learned a few weeks ago. Carry on!

Birch is actually twice as strong and almost half the weight. With the 420 pounds from the 26's, 350 pounds in subs, 120 pounds in amps, and the near 1200 pounds of batteries i have coming along with the 400 pounds of wood, i needed to save the weight, and still have the strength, most of my birch is laid grain against grain, ive never used particle board and never will. Birch is superior to MDF in every way, and ill probably never use MDF again unless a customer doesnt wanna pay for birch. MDF also, doesnt like to hold screws like it should, The glue bond will probably never give without destroying the wood, but, i dont like to rely on just glue, and MDF has the tendency to allow the screw to "spin" because there is nothing there for the screw to grab except the dust the wood was put together with, even pre drilling holes doesnt always help. The argument of birch vs. mdf is quite silly when you look at all the negatives MDF gives and all the advantages birch gives. On top of that who really likes MDF boogers for the next 3 weeks lol? and ive cut many of boxes with the vacuum systems and they do an OK job, but nothing i would brag about. Everytime ive used MDF everything in sight gets covered.

oh my panels dont flex at all FYI.

back on topic, ive got next week off so i hope to work on it some this week and knock a few things out.
