I personally like the direction the mag is going. If it was up to me. I would stick to the dual covers. The news stand issues look busy and bright. (For obvious reasons) As a subscriber I don't need the flash appeal. The "Hot Seat" section can be entertaining, I also look forward to MT Graffiti every issue. Call me a simple man.

As far as the calender. It's not just MT doing the newsstand only calender. Every mag I've seen does that. Why would they do different. I went out and bought it.

I'll see ya next week Chris.

This issue of minitruckin has been brought to you by AIM industries... lol sorry i had to, the ads dont bother me

magazine looks good as always, and everyone is complaining about all the s10's but MT can only feature whats at the shows... this should motivate everyone with more rare trucks to get their trucks finished so there can be other issues that are all rangers, or nissans, etc...

and if they only put the calender in issues on the newsstands it makes the people who have subscriptions go out and buy another copy of it, Double the money,

I have REAL mixed feeling on this issue.
I know the cover truck is clean ( I have spent hours looking at that truck, since I have had the 2001 December issue of Street Trucks for 7 years). I think a cover truck should be something special, something that only GREAT trucks should grace. Sure the interior was redone red, with a new bench seat and the exterior and wheels were painted black. Otherwise nothing was new and exciting, clean and beautiful truck, but cover worthy? no
I have dreamed for years on having a "cover truck", and I thought that it had to be something special. Guess not...
Having that truck on the cover and then having 2 page spreads for a few trucks just turned me off. I know that it is nice to have your truck in a mag, BUT 2 PAGES! That just seems like a slap in the face, you cant get a good feel for a truck in 2 pages. Sure you can fit more trucks in the mag, but again I thought you needed a badass truck to get into a magazine.
I think you lose the honor of getting your truck in a mag if everyone is in the mag.
The semi wheels s10, the transition of the interior shots on the 3rd and 4th page look like ass (amazing shot of the shifter!).
All the adds are fine, helps me see new parts out there.

Thats just my opinion. Sort of took the mag down if you ask me.

i have mixed feelings too, more with the layout and artwork, etc.

this issue seemed flat and elementary. its definitely different, but i think it stepped backward. I know this is probably not as big a deal, or that apparent to the average person, but if your trained in design, its kind of disappointing. so please take this constructively, but i think when Nick Crouch was doing the artwork a while back, the magazine was in its prime. I think a lot can be learned from those issues. but then again, the majority of people like the new stuff.......and im going to buy the mag either way.
