So it doesn't look like this is going to work. So it got cut out...it just wouldn't lay out. The lower bag mount was hitting the notch.

My plan is to switch them inboard the frame, in front of the axle, and make some new fangled upper bag mount system with bent tubular steel.

thread post photo

I may have to switch bags too cause the RE7's are damn tight to rubbing the notch.

I may run sleeves. And before anyone suggests it, I can't run them outside the frame near the rear four link mount off the axle...no room there either.

I love myself.

go with sleeves just inside the frame rail..... you wont have any issue and it will ride amazing. thats how I set my 94 up and will be doing the same with my new dually.

That's what I'm talking about!

Any pics on hand brother? Im at the point where I can visualize 90% of what I plan on doing, shock mounts and all. But a couple pics of yours done would help alot, thx!

Oh and what sleeves did you run?

take the upper four link bar off and make it in 2x2 .250 wall steel. then mount the bags to that bar. itll ride awesome, and lift more then 12 inches

Hi all, after a year of moving to a new shop, then another shop, and catching up on all my paint jobs that have been in limbo, I finally need this truck done by the first week of August.

It's had more bodywork done. Alot of it was rotten and just needed to go. If our local MTO pulled this thing over and scooted under it, it'd get yanked off the road for sure. It had rotten cab corners, stringers, front cab mounts, rad support, new hood, hinges, bumpers, roof...and some other stuff Ive just forgotten.

New paint plans by the owner.

Just a test panel, but it's basically a traditional bendy flame with blue Tru fire under it. Flat sheen and i may murder the rest of the truck out too. Wheels may go black with chrome Alcoa caps. Diamond stitch inlays on the white interior.

Lime green pinstripe and I'll throw in some skulls here and there like this.

The last year has been hell. My workload was stressing my family life and killing my marriage.

I had to struggle thru alot of financial bullshit, and get stuff done and it's almost complete.

I am going to have two projects on the go for the next two months but the Dually is the new priority.

I'm going to surprise my buddy with a new rendering this weekend, so I'll post that up as well.

Truck is pretty much in a zillion pieces and stuff is coming back from powdercoat so it'll be a big model car set to throw back together.

It needs to be done cause I've got this bad boy coming in from Texas to get full flake and kandy 70's paint sometime in September.

Ok game plan is to get this truck out to a show in a week and a half...18th of August?...seems possible.

It won't be done, but definately on the ground, and maybe rolling under its own power...power part I don't know.

All I do know is this fucker needs to get done! I've been looking at it and changing my mind about this and that and not DOING anything. I've always had SOMETHING to paint.

Lowriders...

I blew it all apart and threw it in jackstands to level it off.

I assume you get the message, it's been painting to live and keep shit rolling at the expense of other projects.

Like this truck...and my bug.

thread post photo

I am no longer painting. The next thing that i will paint is THIS DAMN TRUCK.

I finished ALL my painting and the phone is actualoffing silent while I'm here. I picked up the grinder, a pack of cutoff and grinding wheels. Grabbed some Phillies and cranked up Hendrix.

Let's go.

The game plan is simple...I'm making everything back here from scratch. I've spent a week drawing up the rear end and bending metal.

I am ready to rock

We left off at this point.

thread post photo

Since then the front end has been kinda assembled. But rather than bounce all over the friggin place I'll take you through it as it happened.

I got rid of all the old shit so I could start fresh on a better rear end.

thread post photo

My roughed out idea.
thread post photo

The stuff will all be waterjetted out specifically for this truck. Because of the rear end being so narrow I've given up on trying to make shit work, and making my own shit in CAD so I KNOW it'll work.

The slam RE7's are going to be lifted up above the problem areas, and offset two inches inward.

I'll post pics of the freshly cut pieces tomorrow.

That's some pretty amazing paint jobs. Always been a big fan of heavy flake.
