Damn I am beginning to hate the front of this damn truck...Ok here is what I planned on doing, and if this doesn't work i'm going to hack the entire section out and just put a big ass plate along the bottom and gusset it.
What I was thinking about doing is (cause I am aware of the bendy front bag syndrome) cut a crude hole so the majority of the bag comes through the lower control arm. Then run the lower through its range of motion to figure out where the bag starts to bend/angle out...basically find the sweet spot. Then I was going to adjust the height and the angle of the tube steel/w base to fix the inner rub problem.
I am hoping I can squeeze another couple inches of drop out of the front. If it doesn't work this way, then plan 2 is to slice a slightly bigger "square" out of the now "circle" that is cut out now. Then out of like 3/16 metal make a bigger lower plate, box it, and attach it to what was left of the outer edge of the square. So it looks like a cheaper version of a SD lower tubular control arm. This should let the front bags bend and not hit anything.
What do you guys think?
I am only trying it with the tube steel, cause it's right here in my hands, and it's bought. Worst case scenario is, it doesn't work. I'll make something out of it eventually. The OG lower bag cups that came with the SD front end kit are getting recycled to the rear to make the upper rear bag mounts.
Thx for the feeback guys, keep it coming. I do appreciate it-and it does help.
HOLLA!
