yea couple of reasons... i dont really like the wiper cowl being build into the hood so i wanted the seperate wiper cowl. There really isnt a good way to hinge the 79 hood that looks nice.. and a 88 cab is different than a 80 cab in the fire wall area and wouldnt be able to have windsheild wipers if i put the 79 hood on the 88 cab

Just so I understand, You were/are trying to put the early, single round headlingt, front end on your later model drop front?

This is what I have wanted to do sence I got my 86. At the time I had a 76 and I looked at them side by side and it looked like it would all bolt up? Why graft just the front and not bolt on the fenders, hood, cowl, core support, etc? Is there something that Im missing? I know there have been many conversions the other way around?

but since all that started have decided to just go with the 88 front end. very long story. have got quite abit done lately. all the flush mounted lights are done on the cab. fenders tubs are built now im just body working them and gunna paint soon. my buddies have been body working the cab and front clip and hopefully soon will be in the first primer. finished up trans tunnel. its coming together finally.

I knew the firewalls were different but not the wipers. Bummer

may not look like much but the cab is VERY close to being done and primed. main body work left is to float the flush cab lights in on the roof.. finally got tubs built so it almost done under the hood.. I just have a few things to get for the motor and should be back running soon.
